(a.casula@diee.unica.it)RFID technology is increasingly used in in logistics, manufacture and authentication applications, and nowadays several passive sensor devices, operating without batteries and which can be wireless accessed and controlled, are in continuous development. In this special session, innovative circuits like ultra-high/-low impedance transformers for different sensing applications are invited, and they serve as the emerging RFID sensing enabling components. Example sensing applications include, but are not limited to the following: RFID for metallic objects, RFID for physiotherapy, multi-function RF antenna, RFID for monitoring environment, sensing building or structure conditions, and invasive sensing applications, such as implantable medical sensing devices.
