Agra – Home of Taj Mahal
Agra is a city on the banks of river Yamuna in the northern state Uttar Pradesh, India. It is 220 kms from Delhi. This world famous city came into limelight when Babur defeated Ibrahim Lodi at First battle of Panipat in 1526 and founded the Mughal Empire in India, choosing Agra as his capital. The beginning of Mughal Empire brings good luck to this city. You can see here some of the world’s most beautiful, historical and Mughal period architecture. In the year 1632 fifth Mughal emperor Shah Jahan Decided to construct a Monument of Love which is today known as one of the seven wonders of the world Taj Mahal, Since than the glory of this city is never faded. Today this city is more known as the city of Taj Mahal than Agra.
Jaipur- Pink city
In seventeenth Century the Raja (king) of Amer felt the need of shifting the capital city because of every increasing population and growing scarcity of water.
The foundation of the new city Jaipur was laid on 18th November 1727, 11 kms from old city by the maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, after whom the city is named Jaipur. The King was aficionado of science and Mathematics, Jaipur was planned based on the principles of vastu Shastra, the traditional Indian system of architecture and Shilpa shastra the traditional system of art and craft, which made city the first planned city of North India. It took four year to finish the main palaces, squares and the roads of the city. The City was split in nine blocks, of which two of them include the state buildings, palaces and seven blocks are allocated to the community.
During 1905-1906 the city was painted in pink colour to welcome the prince of whales by Sawai Ram Singh. Today Jaipur is the largest and capital of Rajasthan state and one of the popular tourist destinations.
Udaipur- City of Lakes
Surrounded by ancient mountains and set on the edge of the lakes. It is referred as city of Lakes, which make this city most Romantic city of India. Udaipur was founded in 1559 and named after Maharana Udai singh. The picturesque lakes offering fabulous view of the mountains make Udaipur a dream destination of every tourist. Lake Pichola, Udai Sagar Lake, Fateh sagar lake, Rajsamand lake and jaisamand Lake are the prominent lakes of Udaipur.
Varanasi – A city of Light
No matter what people call it Varanasi, Kashi and Banaras, it is said to be one of the oldest inhabited and most exciting cities in the world, which has been standing the test of time for over 5, ooo years. One of the most ancient city for learning and was a place where hundreds of enlightened beings lived at a time. Varanasi was the hub of art, spirituality, culture and music.
